2006-08-15 [Askoga]: Yay for settling this peacefully! XD

2006-08-15 [SeLoCeS]: np were all cool lol i would have accepted a diff cat if i had too its not a stress <(^v^)> but im glad i can have my old cat back thanks Blaithin

2006-08-24 [Morningstar Rising]: hello I am confussed on how to put up a piece of poetry. Do I need a pass word to do it, or is there somewhere else that I have to submit to?

2006-08-24 [Blaithin]: Just read The Rules and find the link on that page :)

2006-08-24 [Morningstar Rising]: I did read the rules and went to the page that I am suppose to put the poem in, but it says it is password protected.

2006-08-24 [Morningstar Rising]: Okay I got it, sorry and thanks.

2006-08-24 [Blaithin]: You're not supposed to go to the dueling page, if you read The Rules then you will find the submissions link. It's hard to miss since it says Submissions ;)

2006-08-24 [Morningstar Rising]: I understand that, I did not see where you were suppose to post it, but I have found it and done it already. Thank you for your help.

2006-08-25 [Blaithin]: You're Welcome :)

2006-08-28 [Askoga]: XD Okay, I am back online, and will be able to update next week. since nothing was updated this weekend anyway, we'll leave all duels as they stand until next Saturday. Sorry, everyone!

2006-09-03 [Jovial]: Due to the lack of entusiasm for the jovial competition the current competition on the Jovial site will be exteneded one more week please write your poetry and sent it in so we do not have to do this in the future

2006-09-14 [crowdel]: hello everyone Due to our low turnout of poetry and voters and such i have taken it upon myself to inform the masses of elftown about this wiki and have gone into negotiations to get our wiki sponsored on the mainpage of elftown to give the page a boost of support from all the poetry lovers of elftown

2006-09-14 [Linderel]: Hmm. Has this wiki ever been on the wiki awards, or even nominated?

2006-09-14 [Askoga]: No idea. But it's currenlty not entirely operating properly (my fault...).

2006-09-15 [crowdel]: well I am nominating it i just need to know how to go about doing that

2006-09-16 [SeLoCeS]: i think you can find the link to the nominating page from the main street of elftown

2006-09-16 [crowdel]: I found it have started to watch it and have nominated us

2006-09-20 [KainVM]: Its a wonder... reopened only to be forgotten again.

2006-10-02 [SeLoCeS]: hi I decided to update everything this week and im sorry if i stepped on anyones toes but it had been awhile since it was done and well i dont want this wiki to die again, well anyways people please vote on those duels still goin and good luck

2006-10-04 [Ergraf]: A smooooooth runnin. Thank you SeLoCeS, if it weren't for you stepping up I wouldn't have stepped up either. Hello everyone. I'm your new Admin. I hope to be a little more interactive and enjoyable than the last one. Anyquestions please send messages to the house [KainVM] Or just message me here on [Ergraf].  I'll do what I can to answer or find someone that can answer for you! Happy Dueling~! There's tons to see! Watch them all! Root for your favorite! Lets be active again~!

2006-10-05 [crowdel]: so you took over for askoga

2006-10-05 [Ergraf]: Yes. I did. I thought I made that obvious with our past conversations. Lol. Sorry if I didn't.

2006-10-05 [Kitara Softpaw]: Um, 'scuse Kain, but [Askoga] was very interative and enjoyable to work with. She ran a good site, just cause she got behind a little. And SeL updated cause he already runs a cat - he just updated them all this week, that's all. You made it obvious that you took over for 'koga, but did you even try messaging and asking at all?

At least when Claire and I were going to take over PD we sent messages and gave the owners time to respond

2006-10-06 [lyubomir]: hey guys i am new here s oplease tell me how can i be in a contest ?

2006-10-06 [SeLoCeS]: you need to read the rules page matey which will explain all <(^v^)>

2006-10-06 [SeLoCeS]: lol and by the by people im a girl lol but hey its all good

2006-10-07 [Kitara Softpaw]: 'Scuse me SeL, forgive me. I wasn't sure if I'd get that right, I was just going by your username. I didn't have enough time yesterday to check your home. *bows* I apoligize.

Kain, I'm just plain ignoring your comment, that was mildly rude.

2006-10-07 [Moorn]: Askoga has just moved into a new apartment in a new state and has sketchy internet access. Consider her on temporary vacation until she gets things settled. Please, let's have no takingovers until she gets a chance to have her say. Thanks much. ^^

2006-10-07 [Moorn]: Spiffy, thanks for understanding. Thanks everyone whose worked to update in her absence. I'll try to get ahold of her and see what she wants to do, if she even wants to come back, what not. Do please be patient, and keep smiling!

2006-10-07 [Moorn]: Until I Askoga can be reached I am going to try and help with keeping things running here. Just consider me another worker, though, I won't claim any kind of authority. I do need some information, though... how many workers are active right now? Ish, unless I can get a head count. ^^

2006-10-07 [Kitara Softpaw]: Moorn, I know SeL and Blaithin were both active workers, other than that, I don't know.

2006-10-07 [Moorn]: Thanksha! Mkay... how about everyone updates their categories normally, and I'll pick up whatever's left. *nods* Sounds good?

2006-10-08 [Kitara Softpaw]: Sounds good to me...*hugs Moorn* I miss you

2006-10-08 [Moorn]: awwr... well, I mostly hang around writersco when I'm online these days. *many hugs* But I'm back, at least for a bit. ^^

2006-10-08 [Moorn]: So who takes care of which house?

2006-10-08 [Kitara Softpaw]: I know. I left writersco though...it just wasn't making it for me. I'm glad you're back for a little. And as for who runs which house, i'm not exactly sure.

2006-10-08 [Blaithin]: I had Dark and To Make you Think while Sel had Realistic I believe :)

2006-10-08 [Moorn]: All right... I'll handle Love, then, and whatever's left. *yawns* Long day.

2006-10-08 [SeLoCeS]: yep i have realistic but if someone isnt going to be here will jump in to help others just send me a message and all is cool
:)
and i dont mind about being called a guy you would be supprised how offten it happens lol though i didnt think my nick was all that manly hahaha

2006-10-08 [crowdel]: I have jovial

2006-10-08 [Kitara Softpaw]: Sorry crow, didn't remember you had a cat. *hangs head* i'm not up on current staff as much.

2006-10-09 [crowdel]: no prob nothing to be sorry about

2006-10-09 [Kitara Softpaw]: haha
it's cause i'm so used to thinking of you in regards to BLU

2006-10-09 [Moorn]: Love's done. I'll claim it, and take care of it each week, if everyone's okay with that.

2006-10-09 [Kitara Softpaw]: 'Sokay with me.

2006-10-09 [KainVM]: I'll just clean up left overs then. Like a garbage disposal! -chomps leftovers- Blech... Pixels and electronic data... not tasty...

2006-10-16 [KainVM]: Oh boy... Allright I'll take the heat on this one. Sorry everyone. I missed updating yesterday. I was out with some friends. I'll hop right to it since it seemed the staff also forgot. Sorry! Fixie fixie right now~!

2006-10-22 [Dil*]: short story duelists

2006-10-22 [KainVM]: Oooo Sneakie Sneakie Dil! Hehe. I'm sure it'll do great!

2006-10-22 [Dil*]: I'm advertizing it for a friend really.

2006-10-22 [KainVM]: Ah well. I'm just poking fun.

2006-10-22 [Dil*]: heh..

2006-10-23 [KainVM]: Awe c'mon people! Get some poems in! I wanna get these categories overflowing! Give the staff something to do! I think they're getting bored! Lol

2006-10-23 [Linderel]: I would, but I have very few poems that I am able to categorise. :S

2006-10-23 [KainVM]: Hahaha, just throw one out there! I'm sure I'll find a category for it! Its not like it's strict you know? There's only five active categories and even if a poem fits in just TINY bit. It'll still work!

2006-10-23 [Linderel]: Okay then. :P But does this mean I'll have to read through my 70+ poems here on ET again? o_O

2006-10-23 [KainVM]: o_o; Well you know... you don't have to go that far... but if you feel thats the best way to do it. More power to you, I'm sure you'll dazzle the spotlight with any one of them!

2006-10-23 [Linderel]: Hehe, doubtful. But I shall see what I can find. I can submit several poems at one time if they're for different categories, right?

2006-10-24 [KainVM]: Yes you can. Sorry for the long reply. But yes. Multiple poems in different categories. It builds the intensity! Will you win them all or Will only one prevail? Who knows! Tune in next time for... another exciting episode of..... EWPDA!!!

2006-10-24 [Linderel]: *giggle*

2006-10-29 [KainVM]: WOW! Full house! Oh yeah!! Lets keep it up! Give me something to do! Or at least... tell the staff members that they have work to do.

2006-11-05 [Amarantha]: EWPDA?! I love it!

2006-11-06 [Kitara Softpaw]: Don't you just?

2006-11-12 [Amarantha]: Hey - I posted a poem a couple days ago, and then it disappeared, and it hasn't shown up anywhere else. Any idea as to what happened to it?

2006-11-13 [crowdel]: what was it and what category was it

2006-11-13 [KainVM]: That was handled! No one worry about it! The Poem was found! I repeat the kidnapped poem was found and the ransom for it paid. Not one word of the poem was hurt. Though the letter c in the third paragraph down was said to have lost it's lower half, I will say that it was recovered and that c is recovering nicely in the Poetry Queue Hospital.

2006-11-13 [Amarantha]: Phew... may I visit and bring it flowers and chocolate?

2006-11-13 [Morningstar Rising]: *LMAO* Now I have heard everything.

2006-11-14 [Citrine]: But wait-- as poets, who here could possibly have the money to pay a ransom?! o_O

2006-11-14 [Amarantha]: Ahh. We must have patrons! Like Shakespeare! Only no deer poaching.

2006-11-14 [Amarantha]: Suggesting category: ballads, etc.

2006-11-14 [Citrine]: Mm... intriguing.

2006-11-14 [Amarantha]: And fun! Or maybe a prophecy category. Those are interesting to write, even if they do tend to be... bad. Very bad. But amusing.

2006-11-14 [Kitara Softpaw]: That was so awesome.

2006-11-14 [BlueAngel]: I loved the silenc poems. They rocked. Just got absessed with this place. Oh, and poems that have a twist at the end, rule....*stares into the distance with a wierd smile on face* coooooooooool.......

2006-11-14 [KainVM]: Hahaha. I love the ideas. I'll see what the rest of staff thinks. I'm not much of a person to develop these kind of things but the ideas will be run. Oh and the Ransom was paid in Snickerdoodles, home made breakfast in bed for two years and free peppermint Schhnaps. Don't worry. Since she is the most dedicated [SeLoCeS] Has offered to cook for this mad man for a week. After that she's going to be running for her life. But don't worry. We have a fool proof plan involving one 'O'Malley' from some machinma series to help. I don't know his reliability but... I can assure you that [SeLoCeS] will be safe. That or my head will be blown off and all will rejoice. Which ever comes first.

2006-11-17 [SeLoCeS]: *falls on her ass laughing*"me cook, god man you really dont know much about me. Hope you like burnt toast"

2006-11-17 [KainVM]: Shhh! Shhhh!! [SeLoCeS]! They aren't suppose to know that! Now the scam's been exposed! What're we gunna do now! They'll be revolting some time soon! Oh god... Oh God.... WE'RE ALL GUNNA BE KILLED! -Runs around like a headless chicken- Buhkaaaaaaaa!

2006-11-17 [Kitara Softpaw]: *raises eyebrow* Interesting....

2006-11-17 [Amarantha]: *plots*

2006-11-18 [SeLoCeS]: hi everyone i hope no one gets upset with me but i updated all cat's this week just cause i was doin the spare ones anyways Hope you all have a great weekend
cheers

2006-11-18 [SeLoCeS]: ooooh i know [KainVM] i will get my personal cook to just do your food too lol see not a problem hahaha

2006-11-22 [Pillowthief]: I already have a poem dueling in Love..., but I want to submit another. Do I have to wait until my first gets defeated(hopefully that will take a while :P)?

2006-11-22 [Kitara Softpaw]: I think this si right:

If you're submitting the poem to another category, you may submit it. You may however, only have one poem dueling/submitted to a category at one time, so that your poems do not go up against one another

2006-11-23 [Pillowthief]: It would be kind of a win/win situation if they did, wouldnt it... :P

2006-11-24 [Askoga]: Exactly

2006-11-24 [Askoga]: Ahh....by the way, there is a possibility that I will finally be back sometime in the near future. I'd love to be a part of this place again, when I really am back. ^.^

2006-11-26 [Amarantha]: I have tied again! It is ridiculous.<img:img/mood/44166_1164145171.gif>

2006-11-27 [Citrine]: <img:img/mood/44166_1164145253.gif> .... there are emoticons. Strange...!

2006-11-28 [Amarantha]: Very...<img:img/mood/44166_1164145147.gif>

2006-11-28 [Ergraf]: Yeah... about that... >_>;

2006-11-28 [Kitara Softpaw]: of course you're welcome back Askoga

2006-12-03 [crowdel]: just a side-note for all those who write more than just poems short story duelists is up and running and is a great site for anyone with a story to tell

2006-12-04 [Kitara Softpaw]: My poem won in Jovial, which means my current counts @ the winning duelists should be 16, not 15...just wanted to point that out

2006-12-04 [crowdel]: sorry bout that i didnt update this week cause someone else seemed to do it and apparently they did it wrong

2006-12-05 [Kitara Softpaw]: okies

2006-12-09 [KainVM]: Pst... I wasn't here that weekend so I was updating at 4 AM Monday Morning on my time. I probably made a lot of errors, but I did try to take 20 minutes checking, rechecking and triple checking if I made mistake.

2006-12-12 [KainVM]: Yeah about that... I also made another mistake that I apparently didn't see... I set the dates for this week... not two days ago. Sorry everyone >_> But ahem... I should be back on track. I've been in and out of town recently on the weekends so I can't update until mondays... I'm really sorry about all this tardiness.

2006-12-17 [Dil*]: Shameless plug: draw dil

2006-12-27 [KainVM]: I apologize EWPDA participants. As a result of some weird phenomenon I had fallen intensely ill over this holiday season. Unfortunately, this happened the eve that I was going to do updates. Which yes, was December 23rd. Since then I have been regurgitating my precious food that I require to think and remain active. However I am better, and I will update this coming Saturday. Those of you dueling be glad you got an extra week to make a come back. When I last looked there were a lot of landslide victories. In any rate and note, I am returning after an unexpected absence and will be making amends for the ghastly food poisoning that gave me the flu, common cold and other things... Which I will note doesn't seem physically possible, which is what I was yelling as it beat me senseless with my own skull.

2007-01-03 [KainVM]: Ok... apparently I failed again. Not only did last week get ruined by my intense sickness, this week was ruined by lack there of, of an Internet provider. So... This week WILL be updated ON TIME. For once... -knocks on wood- Pray to whoever it is you pray to, that I don't die suddenly -_- It's the last thing that will probably happen after all this.

2007-01-03 [SeLoCeS]: hi to all, i am sorry i also have been very busy with work but as off this week i will be back to normal hours and will be taking up my normal duties. Sorry again but i did notice i wasnt the only one not here lol i think we all went on Xmas holidays hahaha

2007-01-04 [daydreamer]: Hello! I accidentally put my full, real name on one of my poetry submissions, and now it pops up in a google search of my name . . . could you do me a huge favor, and either give me the password, or erase my name from Twenty-Third Page? I would really appreciate it. Thank you!

2007-01-05 [KainVM]: Allright. I'll get to that. Sorry about that.

2007-01-13 [SeLoCeS]: ATTENTION ATTENTION people put your poems in We want this wiki to be a great challenge for people and we need you to join in not just watch so I want to see those poems coming in.

2007-01-14 [Amarantha]: Ok. I'll contribute more poems.

2007-01-14 [KainVM]: Hahaha, That's our SeLoCeS, ever industrious. She has a point however! C'mon observers of the EWPDA! Contribute! Earn those fanceh lookin' Badges we give out!

2007-01-14 [Amarantha]: Please do! I'm trying to enter every category that needs a challenger, but I really don't write in them. Save yourselves my attempts to write Dark and Love! Save yourselves from my sister's poetry!

2007-01-14 [daydreamer]: Thank you so much for fixing it! Google hasn't gotten the hint yet, but I'm sure it will figure it out. Thanks again!

2007-01-22 [KainVM]: Sorry about the late updates. I'll post everything this next saturday. This weekend my router and stuff decided they wanted to take a dump on me. o I couldn't do anything beside be a Networker -_- Sorry.

2007-01-22 [Askoga]: Yikes! I didn't know that the olde poems page pages were exported.

Heh, sorry my router is doing awful things to you, Kain. Got it fixed now?

2007-01-25 [Kitara Softpaw]: The only other poems I have to submit right now I think are in cats i have poems already entered in 0o' I don't want to face myself...

Question?: Would anyone consider a "Satirical" category? There is a difference between satirical and jovial, and some poems might fight better in a satirical cat.

Suggestion: Maybe we shouldn't export the olde poems page...just in case anyone else did that

2007-01-27 [Askoga]: Or we could simply delete the names of the entrants when we place them on that page, though simply not exporting them is a pretty valid idear, Kitara.

2007-01-27 [Willow Rose]: Who runs this?
I was just wondering... I've entered this contest on Writersco. and was thinking about doing it here as well...

2007-01-27 [Morningstar Rising]: Not sure who runs it, but you can enter if you want, just check out The Rules first.

2007-01-28 [SeLoCeS]: hi there at the moment its run by KainVM and others staff members around the place, Please add your poem we are in need as there seems to be a shortage of creative people at the moment lol cheers

2007-01-28 [KainVM]: Duh -_- yeah.. sorry... ben really scattered. Wasn't the router it was the dumbasses that couldn't up keep it. My Desktop just recently took a nose dive too... No sys bios or boot screens... it's trashed. Anyway yeah we could use more submitters. I run the place for now... but Askoga's the main Admin. Seems like she's getting online more too so... I'll likely be taking my step back.

2007-01-28 [Askoga]: XD I still haven't got regular 'net, and I'm paying outrageous amounts for coffee just so I can get online this much in one month. I swear I'm gonna come out of this a caffeine addict.

2007-01-28 [Willow Rose]: Sorry to here that [Askoga] ;)
*<3's coffee* >.>

2007-01-29 [KainVM]: Thought you already were an Addict?  Lucky for you Caffeine does what it's suppose to. It just puts me to sleep... bloody backwards chemical compounds... I hate it...

2007-01-29 [Askoga]: Nuuuu, I used to *never* have caffeine in my system, except for what little is in chocolate. Now, I'm drinking huge cups of coffee.

2007-01-29 [Willow Rose]: It makes me sleepy, but also itchy, so then I can't sleep.

2007-01-30 [Amarantha]: Exactly! Pointless drink.

2007-01-30 [Willow Rose]: I have a question. Once you submit a poem, if it doesn't win, can you submit it again?

2007-01-30 [KainVM]: Yes you can. You can always submit or resubmit! So long as someone else isn't submitting for you XD At least... thats how I look at it. Askoga is the main admin I'm only a temp. Think of me as the guy they send in if the GM is a screw up.

2007-01-30 [KainVM]: OK... on another note... Amarantha... try not to submit into a cat that your already dueling in and are the champ.  o_O I'm gunna list you as Queued or Awaiting Defeat >_> because thats basically what your waiting for lol... trying to duel yourself... is that even plausible? SeLoCeS! Askoga! Staff meeting in the secret bat cave!

2007-01-30 [Willow Rose]: *submitted* ^___^

2007-01-30 [Amarantha]: *applause for Willow Rose*

Oops! *guilty look* Sorry! Just trying to fill as many categories as possible to keep duels running! Which is hard - but, enough of that. Dueling myself? Hmm. Awkward (and awkward is a really awkward word, have you noticed?) and if physical dueling, impossible, though virtually, I dunno... might be amusing...

2007-01-30 [Willow Rose]: Ah, *bows*
^^ Just kidding.

2007-01-31 [crowdel]: the jovial category is awaiting saturday

2007-01-31 [Willow Rose]: Oh, so if a category is awaiting, I can't submit anything for it?

2007-01-31 [crowdel]: no you can submit it simply wont go into the next weeks contest. your entry made it awaiting saturday

2007-01-31 [Askoga]: No dueling yourself. -nods to this- It's not a good idea.

2007-01-31 [Willow Rose]: Ah, okay. I just noticed that the poem I submitted was gone. ^^ So meh.

2007-01-31 [Linderel]: I'd call anything above PG-13 explicit.

2007-01-31 [Amarantha]: Ok! No dueling myself. Too awkward.

2007-02-01 [KainVM]: Anything concerning Vulgar and vivid images of gore, or carnal desires sort of thing. Basically nothing aboce PG-13. I don't think many would be happy to be reading such things. And yes.. You are still under awaiting defeat Amarantha >_> solely because your just begging to be defeated!

2007-02-01 [Willow Rose]: I like reading such things >.> *cough* But I know many who don't, so yes :P

2007-02-02 [dark starlight]: heh. PG-13 for me is more like R. but its not gorey. The word nipple is mentioned...

2007-02-02 [Askoga]: May I read it?

2007-02-02 [KainVM]: Hate te break it to you, unless it's TASTEFUL, or as I like to put tactful, any vague mention of a body part /normally/ never mentioned for what ever reason society deems. It isn't allowed. >_o meaning unless there is no real mention of it, but it is obviously being described, then don't post it. On another note... wild please edit your comment to a bunch of ___'s because it's just not kosher on a public page that could get us all introuble. You know where I suggest they go.

2007-02-03 [dark starlight]: No, Actully, I don't know what you're suggesting. But, Sure. I'll forget my right to freedom of speech so what I say is "kosher" enough. Wouldn't want to offend some frail-minded member of society...

2007-02-03 [KainVM]: Right! Because breaking the minds of people that just can't handle the truth with out really doing so deliberately, on your own time, just ISN'T fun! I mean seriously... why would you want to break masses that could ruin you, while breaking the individual is so much more satisfying.

2007-02-03 [Kitara Softpaw]: *blinks* Anywho, you have a freedom of speech starlight, however, you should try to think of the rights of others around you. A younger crowd, though small perhaps, does roam Elftown. Try to keep them in mind.

2007-02-03 [Willow Rose]: You could always put rating warnings on your works, so that people who don't want to read that stuff or are offended by it can pass it by. *shrug* Though some people would read it and complain anyway I suppose.

2007-02-03 [dark starlight]: How young are we talking about? I was 12 when I found Elftown....Nothing like that offended me. I wasn't that naive. But, whatever, I'm not going to post anything on here.

2007-02-03 [Kitara Softpaw]: Yes, if there are rating things, I agree but I think we were discussing what is appropriate for putting into contests.

Some people who are twelve (or even older) are that naive though.

2007-02-03 [Willow Rose]: I'm working on my own contest on Writersco... It's called "anything goes writing contest". And you can post stuff that has language and gore, etc. Because I know people who write stuff like that and like to read stuff like that, and are always disappointed because contests they'd like to join don't allow their writings. I've been disappointed before as well, because I have a short story I'd really like to submit to a contest, and never can. Of course, it will need to have ratings and such...
But I feel like, if the people who are offended by that and are naive and stuff can have their feelings respected, then there should be a place where people can post their work no matter what it has in it.
Otherwise, to me, it's just unfair... Because the other group of people (who write and read that kind of stuff) are left out.
I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but know what I mean?

2007-02-03 [Kitara Softpaw]: Like I said, with ratings, that is permissible, but this dueling arena is however for the general public

2007-02-03 [Willow Rose]: Well some of the general public might like to write/read more then PG-13. But yes, I know what you mean. A lot of people are offended by it and all. So it IS nice that there's a nice clean arena as well. :)

2007-02-04 [Willow Rose]: Oh, guess what all? I might be getting a story published xD

2007-02-04 [Askoga]: -puts in her own two cents- Y'know, it'd be possible to create a parallell dueling arena for the more mature poems. I can't volunteer to do that now, of course, but maybe when I have 'net and a set schedule at work...

2007-02-04 [dark starlight]: I would do it...with some help.

2007-02-04 [Willow Rose]: When I get done with the one one writersco, I was planning on moving it here as well. Already have the wiki for it. Have started to work on the content of the wiki as well, just on WordPerfect.

2007-02-04 [dark starlight]: oh yay. i think i sent you a message about that..

2007-02-04 [crowdel]: hey dark I can help with it it's not too difficult and i can be an admin for it too especially if we follow the layout from here

2007-02-04 [dark starlight]: a battle of words the layout is a bit different...

2007-02-11 [Amarantha]: I can't wait for the new duels this week! *excited*

2007-02-11 [Willow Rose]: *looks at calendar and notices it's the 11th* o.o

2007-02-12 [Amarantha]: Exciting, huh?

2007-02-12 [KainVM]: Ehh... Sorry guys...This have been hellish. Last week I lost two inches of skin, long, off my left hand. So updating things seemed like a miserable thing to do. Talk of Divorce is the highlight of my New year. To top things off, My Desktop just had 512 ram corrupt and fry. So I've been looking to replace it, and the skin on my left hand. Good news, Hand can move a little. Bad news, Don't think I'll be up to updating for a while... Would someone mind terribly volunteering to take over my update duties for Dark and Love...? I'd appreciate it.

2007-02-12 [Amarantha]: Uh, sure. If you tell me how, I'll do it.

2007-02-15 [dark starlight]: Please check out A Battle of Words. Don't mean to spam, but you can enter any type of poetry you want. :P

2007-02-21 [KainVM]: It seems that there will be problems with Elftown this weekend. If Things do not update then please remember that there will be an ISP change for the entirety of Elftown. I'll do what I can, as well as the rest of staff, to get your poems up and dueling those of you that have submitted. Thank you for your patience with me and my sporadic lifestyle.

2007-03-03 [SeLoCeS]: to anyone out there with a realistic type poem please enter as i have been coming in here for a few weeks now with nothing to do and only one poem sittin there all alone with no one to duel against I feel for that peom its sooooooo lonely ....... It needs another poem out there to give it a little life in this poem world so come on in and offer it a challenge in the form off a poem duel.Oh and well of course give me something to do :)

2007-03-03 [Amarantha]: If it isn't mine I'll enter one... I don't recall anymore. If not, I think I can get my sister to enter one.

2007-04-15 [SeLoCeS]: well this place seems to have died once again....:o(

2007-04-15 [Linderel]: I don't know about others, but I've been more active at the Writersco arena...

2007-04-15 [Kitara Softpaw]: i've been active here, but i don't know

2007-04-17 [KainVM]: I do apologize everyone... I work graveyard shift... and find myself unable to wake up to update, or update at the times I must. 10 PM is when Updates should be done to give other Admin and staffers a chance to do their own but of recent... one of my coworkers was jut fired, there are now only five of us working night crew. To compensate I'm working 30 hours over time until someone new is hired. Note... I just got off work...

2007-05-22 [KainVM]: Ah, Heh! Go figure... this went unresponded... oh well... lets see... huh... well...Nice... to see you all again... metaphorically speaking.

2007-06-03 [Pillowthief]: PDA = Dead

2007-06-03 [Linderel]: It just can't seem to stay alive.

2007-06-04 [Citrine]: The deadness is sad.
If there's any way I could help keep things alive around here, let me know. I'm on break now, so I should have some more time to help out.

2007-06-04 [crowdel]: idk any way what i attribute this to is the influx of people that treat elftown as a social gathering place than an elfwood for writers

2007-06-04 [Citrine]: It's almost better that they don't write, though I've seen their "poetry" and am pretty sure that they could fill the Dark category to the brim talking about how their lives suck

2007-06-04 [crowdel]: i know this place is turning into emotown. Actually that is what they should do as an attempt to get some of them off here i have nothing against them i just think that there need to be some sort of stipulatons into who can get on here

2007-06-04 [Linderel]: Well, it's not only the increasing number of 'useless' members. It's also that people seem to generally have more interest in art and photo contests than writing ones - and that includes places like this poetry dueling arena. Wikis designed for writers flourish for a short while, then everyone loses interest. Of course, the part of the blame falls on people hosting writing wikis - they care for them irregularly, for whatever reason.
So, what I'm saying here is, it's not just one thing that attributes to the recurring death of this place. It's many.

2007-06-05 [crowdel]: you do have a real point there

2007-06-25 [Kitara Softpaw]: Yea, I've noticed about the whole "social gathering place". It's annoying.

I agree though. It's alot that contributes to the whole "recurring death" thing.

2007-07-03 [KainVM]: Hate to say, but I think I contributed in a way also. Since I'm mostly dedicated to work and... well work. I've completely blown off my volunteer stuff... Diva, Contact me if possible later... I'll see what I can't do to help you get off in helping the arena.

Crow, you do more than your share here, Lol. Especially since I've gone dormant. It's more than likely Askoga will never come back, at this rate. As for me, well I'll try, but I'll mostly just be doing the Administrator thing, coming in occasionally, checking with the staff and see how things are running. Which.. is mostly what I used to do... Heh.

2007-11-24 [KainVM]: Go figure... talking about checking on things... Wow... a whole four months since the last comment was posted... Hi again, your last living admin... I think? Anyway...ahh... hi? Is anyone alive?  Is that EKG even on? ..... hellllooooooo?

2007-11-28 [Mystereality]: this wiki seems interesting, and I have a lot of poetry I can use or write. Is this place active any longer? is there anything that can be done to get it running again?

2007-11-28 [Citrine]: ... looks like I'm here to help, starting now. No, I don't quite know what I'm doing... but I can try to get things running if we have participation.

2007-11-28 [Linderel]: I may participate if it might actually stay alive this time. :P

2007-11-29 [Citrine]: I'll do my best to help.

2007-11-29 [KainVM]: -Spits on his hands and rubs them together.- Ok thats it...

Now hear this, Now heaaaar this. I am KainVM, your last existing Administrative body for this Poetry Dueling Arena. [Citrine] has been kind enough to offer assisting, I'm making a call to any others who would like to help also. I understand you all have lives and thats a given.

Today I will update ALL the categories, yes it's not update day, which I will AGAIN change to a more convenient day for [Citrine] to update.

And so it begins! -Lifts hand and snaps.-

2007-11-29 [KainVM]: Done. If there is anything wrong... tell me, I'll see if I can't fix it..

2007-11-30 [tenshi-ryuu]: Question of curiosity that I haven't been able to locate the answer to anywhere else: Is there a limit to how many poems can be entered to compete at a time by one user? (I assume max 1 per category)

2007-12-01 [KainVM]: Actually, the maximum is... how ever many you can write. however per Cate you may only enter 1, but I do allow double entries.

Where this sounds strange, if you, the victor have two poems, you may opt to duel yourself, make it interesting.

To me that is unorthodox but, one person may like the other poem that you made over another. You may not vote for both however. Long strings of explinations that don't make sense: Priceless.

2007-12-12 [SeLoCeS]: hi guys great to see this runnin again I would be back to help out but am leavin for India in four weeks and dont know if i will have internet where i am staying for three mths but hope you dont rule me off the admin side cause i will help when i get back to New Zealand if that is cool in march

2007-12-13 [KainVM]: Whoa, nice! Don't worry. All Missing in Action Moderators are never written off. You may come back when you wish. Thank you for telling me in the first place though! I will most definitely welcome you home with open arms!

2007-12-14 [crowdel]: im back if we are off the ground again for jovial category

2007-12-21 [KainVM]: Just jump right back in Crow. I'm more than busy because of the holiday season.. and working retail.. well you know the drill. I'm swamped. Barely a day off worth calling a day off. So.. -shrug- I come in when I can... but it isn't oft enough.

2007-12-22 [crowdel]: yeah well whats the list of admins theres SeLoCeS, Me, and You thats three and i believe 6 categories so if everyone takes on a second one you shouldnt be so busy and i dont know what you two have but ill take the one you two are not doing

2008-05-21 [KainVM]: Good evening EWPDA. Your run away lead admin here... wow.. I'm sorry. I haven't received an Update at my Email in so long, and working as much as I do I don't always remember this. Wow... how is everyone doing? I'm sorry for the five month vanishing act... ahh... Can anyone update me what you've seen going on?

2008-05-21 [Citrine]: next nothing, unfortunately. :(
... and I know that part of that was supposed to be my responsibility, but we need contributors before the admins can do much. :/

2008-11-10 [KainVM]: Citrine, thank you for your info. Another long hiatus on my part. Forgive me. Life's been hecktic.. with what the econ is like in the USA it's hard to keep a job. Been working to the bone so... I'm very much exhausted. Haha seeing as I hardly appear anymore. I'll do what I can to get this place rolling again... Just feeling so old....

2008-12-31 [Linderel]: The submissions page has 42 watchers! :D
Hm. I'll try to submit a few of mine. If this thing is to be resurrected again, it's going to have to be a group effort.

2009-01-20 [Fractured Memories]: Let's get this rolling. It sounds like an interesting concept and I'd love to submit. Is it still open and if so when is the next one?
